Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding your baby is wonderful and natural, but can be very challenging as you and your baby are both learning. We are committed to helping you succeed and developed a program to support nursing from pregnancy to solids, and beyond. We offer prenatal breastfeeding education classes, drop-in nursing groups at our Over The Moon Center, a postpartum pumping class, and personalized support via phone, email, Skype and home visits with IBCLCs (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants) throughout the Greater Boston Area. Whether you are worried about your baby’s growth, struggling with latching, think you might have a clogged duct, mastitis or thrush, are wondering about introducing solids, or have a biter, we are here to help!

Our breastfeeding support program begins with our prenatal Breastfeeding Class, which teaches you and your partner breastfeeding basics to help you successfully breastfeed starting with your baby’s first feeding. You can also schedule a private In-Home PRENATAL Lactation Consultation with an IBCLC if you have specific concerns regarding breastfeeding your baby or you are unable to attend one of our Breastfeeding Classes.

We also have a Breastfeeding Drop-In Group!
$10/mother, Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. at Over The Moon Center in Norwell
Sue Simmons, RN and IBCLC, provides a warm and comforting environment to chat about nursing techniques, issues and tips. She'll also bring a scale to weigh your baby before and after a feeding to see exactly how many ounces they take in a feed.

New Arrival Educators’ Breastfeeding Support Program continues to be there for you once you are home with your new baby. Are you having difficulty breastfeeding? Do you have questions and are not up to leaving the house yet? Just purchase an In-Home POSTPARTUM Lactation Consultation with an IBCLC. (Most insurance companies partially or completely reimburse for IBCLC lactation consultations.)

New Arrival Educators’ Breastfeeding Program concludes with our “Pump Chat” Class, which will review everything you will need to know to successfully continue feeding your baby your breast milk via pumping once you are ready to return to work.
